Spontaneous sequestration on oral mucosa associated with removable retainer

A 45-year-old female with Class III incisor relationship on I skeletal pattern came to orthodontic specialist clinic after referral from prosthodontic department. She requested have lower dentition spaces be closed before dental implant fitted. had upper and dentures previously but not quite happy the aesthetic. is fit healthy diabetes mellitus type 2. Fixed appliance was done arch as teeth were nicely aligned. Lower retainer fitted fixed removed (debonded). Several week later, she complain of exposed bone her lingual oral mucosa. The aetiology sequestration, osteonecrosis association discussed in this case report.
